My Main Role And Detailed plot

My Role

I took the role as producer, director and will be editing the film with my partner (Oumie). As a producer, rather than finding a script I wrote the script for our opening scene. The actors being friends of mine had volunteered to be in my opening scene. I also used my partner opinion.

I used the my friends front door to be part of our scene and my living room which I didn't need to pay  for costumes as the actors already have the costumes.

We may be using Garage Band to add sound effects. The most challenging role will be directing the camera women and the actors, which would mean I would need to have a lot of patience so that I wouldn't put pressure on the actors and the camera women.

Detailed Plot

About a young teenage girl named Melinda, who lives with her mother, who is always drunk. Finally Melinda had enough because her mother is an Alcoholic .One day when Melinda (which is me) was going school her mother stops her and starts questioning her and assumes that her daughter (Melinda) is giving her attitude and slaps Melinda across the face. Melinda looks away feeling so defeated and small and walks out the living room in a rush; out the front door from; runs to her friend's house. She tells her friend that she cannot live with her mother no longer, so Melinda make a decision to leave and live with her dad. (They have a heart to heart talk) Melinda  goes back home packs her things, kisses her mum (as her mum is asleep) and leaves.

The ending - Melinda walks down a long street and the further she walk away the image starts to bluer out and the title of the film appears. We have named our film 'Time To Go' because of the link to our film. Melinda the main character final puts her foot down and divides that it is time for her to go and live with her dad.

First Prelim

This was our first prelim, we have put a lot of effort into it, but it wasn't good enough which means we have to make a better version which will give us better markes

This scene is in the living room scene when Jordan is living her house to go school, and her mum stops her and asks her "where are you going?" (Drunk tone of voice, with aggression)
In this scene, Jordan is holding on to the door handle with aggression because of the conflict she has had with her mother.

In this scene, Jordan walks into school, with a different attitude ( smile on her face, also feeling happy) the reason why her attitude has changed is because she doesn't want her friends asking her "what's wrong" or even the teacher's.

She spots her best friend and decides to have a convocation with him to show that nothing is wrong with her.

Jordan is going back to her house, with an upset face, because she is returning to her house, we're her alcoholic mother is, a lot is going though her head of what her mother is going to do to her when gets home.

Opening Sequence To Adulthood

The use of non-diegetic sound to connote the theme of youths in this scene. In some of the scene they have used a realistic sound effects to match what is on screen and create a more powerful impact and more intensity to the scene. I can use this sound because it can help me reflect my own theme in my opening sequence. I have noticed that in the scene, when the characters have started to talk, the music turned down so the dialogue can be heard. Some opening sequence start with silence which is effective because it creates anticipation for the audience. I can use this silence in my opening, because it can make my scene powerful to grab the audiences attention.

I had a look at the trailer and I have noticed the music was being played in the background, from beginning to end of the trailer. Every time there was a scene when someone was being punched the dynamic of the song was much more louder and effective to create a reaction from the audience. The film was set in London, it represents the life style of the younger generation who are involved with gangs (crime, drugs etc...) back in 2006.

health and safety.

This is our health and risk assessment. their are a few risks which we would need to be aware of  because we wouldn't want to put the actresses or the person holding the camera in danger. There is also a high risk because we will be filming on the streets which could mean anyone that walks by can Robb us or even interrupt our filming. Another risk could be that if the camera person can drop down the stairs with the camera. Another risk could be dropping the camera or the camera may stop working which would mean we could be behind on filming.

StoryBoard

This is a quick video of me jordan talking about the different scence. We used an app called show me, which we put the pictures up and voice over to discribe what its going to be about, this storyboard isn't in order because it is a rough copy. I will do another and better storyboard drawing to make my blog more creative.
